Terms of service
Last updated 6 November 2026
Draft under review. This version applies to the public demo and early pilots.
These terms are an agreement between the organization that creates a Stampwise account ("you", the employer) and Stampwise ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Stampwise you agree to them on behalf of your organization, and confirm that you are authorised to do so.
1. What Stampwise is, and isn't
Stampwise is a record-keeping tool for employers of temporary foreign workers. It stores your records, checks them against the information you enter, warns you about dates and gaps, and builds files you can share with an inspector.
Stampwise is not legal or immigration advice. Its checks are based on our reading of public government guidance, which changes, and on the information you enter. It cannot tell you that you are compliant. Always confirm your obligations, and anything an alert raises, with a regulated Canadian immigration consultant (RCIC) or a lawyer. You remain responsible for meeting the conditions of your LMIAs and the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.
2. Your account
- Keep passwords secure and give access only to people who should see your workers' records. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Account owners manage access, export data and can close the account.
- Tell us promptly at support@getstampwise.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. Your data
- You own the records you add. We use them only to provide and secure the service, as described in the privacy policy.
- You are responsible for having a lawful basis to add workers' personal information and for telling your workers that you keep these records, as you would for any HR system.
- You can export everything at any time, and delete records or close the account. Deleted data is removed from backups within 30 days.
- Don't upload information you don't need: for example, Social Insurance Numbers are not required by Stampwise.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Stampwise to break the law, upload malicious files, try to access other customers' data, overload or probe the service, or resell it without our agreement.
5. Fees
Stampwise is free during the pilot. Before any paid plan applies to you, we will tell you the price in writing at least 30 days in advance, and you can choose not to continue. Prices will not change during a paid term you have already paid for.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep Stampwise available and your data safe, with daily backups, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may improve or change features; if we remove something important to you we will give reasonable notice.
7. Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by closing your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after notice where reasonable. If we ever stop offering Stampwise, we will give at least 60 days' notice so you can export your records.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including penalties or decisions by government authorities, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or C$100 during a free pilot). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. We may update these terms; we will post the new version here and email account owners about significant changes before they apply. Questions: support@getstampwise.com.
